Our staff works directly with the women we serve, providing daily support, guidance, and mentorship throughout their journey.

Kim Brewer
Executive Director
Kim and her husband of almost 30 years, Clint, live in Weatherford. They are parents to 2 adult daughters and a teenage son (with a bonus son). Kim grew up in Parker County, graduating from Aledo High School and attended Weatherford College.
After staying home with her children, she has been in ministry for over 20+ years, serving on staff at a local church in the Kids Ministry, Student Ministry as well as Missions Ministry.
God began her journey at Sanctified Hope as a volunteer mentor and then moved her into a staff position as the Program Manager, eventually moving her into Executive Director.
Laura Thomas
Case Manager
Laura and her husband of 30 years, Jim, live in Weatherford
where they moved to in 2023. They have 2 daughters, one son-in-law, and their first granddaughter on the way! Laura is originally from Florida, attended Stetson University, and then the University of Arkansas for graduate school. She has worked in secondary education as a school counselor, then at the college level as an Academic Advisor and Campus Director, also working administrative jobs along the way. She is a member of Northside Baptist Church, where her husband is the Senior Pastor, and she is on the Board of Directors for SPARK Ministry.
Laura is passionate about women knowing their worth and
freedom in Christ. Galatians 5:1 is her life verse, as she wants women to look forward to the plans and purpose God has for them.


Brenda Trammell
Program Support
Brenda has lived in Weatherford since she was 4 years old. Brenda is a mother of two children and has 8 grandchildren. She loves spending time with her family at Friday Football games and Saturday Softball games with her grandchildren. After graduating from Weatherford High School, she worked at JPS Hospital in Fort Worth for 17 years.
She has been employed with Sanctified Hope since 2017 beginning with being on the weekend staff, has but has been employed full time as the Program Support since April of 2023. She loves working with the ladies and driving them around to their appointments and sharing her life experiences.
She is very thankful that God has chosen this path for her in this ministry.
Gayle Wells
Volunteer Coordinator
Gayle has a passion for prison ministry. She has worked in prison ministry for over 20 years serving with Prison Fellowship and Bill Glass. She was on the original Board of Directors for Sanctified Hope.
Her vision as the Volunteer Coordinator is to gain more active volunteers and to be able to shoulder some of the needs for the office. She is thankful that God has opened this opportunity.


Michelle Thompson
Night Support
Michelle and her husband Shane live in Weatherford and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Michelle serves as evening staff and enjoys working alongside the women as a sister in Christ, and feels blessed witnessing their growth.
Michelle says "the women hold a special place in my heart as God transitions their lives and I am truly blessed to have a front row seat witnessing them becoming daughters of the King."

Chairperson
Janet Duvall-Athey
Janet is the mother of 4 grown children and grandmother to 9 precious grandchildren. She has been involved in many ministries over the years from mission work, clothing ministries, counseling, teaching Bible studies, and music ministries. For 5 years, Janet and a friend taught a class called “Making Peace with Your Past” at Carswell Federal Prison. That is where the vision and a need for a Christian transitional home was birthed. So in 2015, the vision became reality. Janet is married to Chris Athey, a former 30-year Chaplain at Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He now has a correspondence course he manages for incarcerated men and women. They both enjoy doing ministry together to further God’s kingdom.

Jennifer Williams
Jennifer Williams is a Parker County native with family heritage that has deep roots right here in Weatherford. Jennifer is married to husband (Carl) of 30 years, they pastor Rehoboth House of Worship in Ft. Worth, Texas where she is also Executive Administrator and Worship Leader. Jennifer and Carl have 3 children (Salyce, Carl Jr. and Veronica) who serve in the ministry as well. Jennifer is also a worshipper and often sings on platforms in the community. She sings in her husband’s music ministry Carl Williams & Tru Praze, where they travel and share their gift of worship with the world. Jennifer has 30 years of Executive level experience which encompasses Management, Director of Finance and Operation & Strategic Planning. She is the President and 10-year member of Parker County Executive Association. Jennifer treads the industry of Real Estate as the Client Services Coordinator for Trinity Classic Homes. Her goal is making sure every buyer has a great home-building/buying experience by letting Christ lead through her. Jennifer comes with years of successful experience working with many different types of personalities, ages, and ethnicities. Her God given leadership quality as well as experience, discernment, poise, and personality allows Jennifer to ignite and establish great relationships everywhere she plants. Jennifer is also a licensed, multi-cultural Stylist serving the Parker County and surrounding areas for over 25 years. Her passion is beautification by hair! Jennifer lives by the scripture, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

Secretary
Dr. Arleen Atkins
Dr. Arleen Atkins is Dean of Institutional Effectiveness at Weatherford College where she oversights institutional research, planning and assessment, and the college’s ongoing institutional accreditation with the US Department of Education. Throughout her years employed at Weatherford College, she has served in many capacities including Vice-President of Instruction and Dean of Student Services. Dr. Atkins is also a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with the Texas State Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. She supervises Licensed Professional Counselor Associates seeking licensure in her small private practice. Dr. Atkins earned her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Guidance and Counseling from Tarleton State University and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Curriculum, Instruction, and Supervision, with a minor in Counseling, from Texas A&M University at Commerce. She has taught as an adjunct instructor at Tarleton State University in the Department of Counseling, and she currently teaches part-time in the Psychology Department at Weatherford College. Dr. Atkins is active in the local Zonta Club of Parker County where she serves on the Board of Directors, is Scholarship Committee Chairperson, and was named 2020 Woman of the Year. She is a member of the Annetta United Methodist Church where she plays piano and serves on the Church Council. She is also a member of the Weatherford College Wesley Foundation Board. Dr. Atkins resides in Aledo where she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren and traveling with family and friends.

Treasurer
Tammy Barrett
Tammy Barrett is a retired CPA from California. She received her CPA license in 1988 and retired it during 2020. She worked for three CPA firms, all of which specialized in non-profits and governmental accounting entities. She has audited everything from a United Way, a Girl Scout Council, two different YMCA's, a college bookstore, and several governmental water districts. She and her husband of 35 years, Dave moved to Texas in May of 2022, settling in Springtown. They have three boys who have remained in CA up to this point. Tammy and Dave attend New Life Fellowship Church, where she serves there as well. Tammy loves to serve and use the gifts that the Lord has blessed her with. She has previously mentored two different participants at Sanctified Hope, she is currently a financial coach, a driver and I filled the program assistant role on staff for part of 2025. She currently serves as the accountant and the Board Treasurer.

Sonya Lee
Sonya and her husband Richard live in Weatherford, and together they have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. They enjoy RV traveling with friends, usually to the mountains, as well as serving and spending time with their family. After 18½ years, she retired as the finance manager from Trinity Bible Church where she served and took part in different ministries. She currently serves as a mentor and enjoys being a part of the widow’s ministry at church. Sonya has shared in the vision and ministry of Sanctified Hope since its beginning and is excited to come along side us as one of God’s servants to further His kingdom through this ministry.

Tommy Turner
Tommy has a daughter and a son. He is a grandfather to 5 wonderful grandchildren. He has called Weatherford home for 31 years. Tommy has been an active member of North Side Baptist Church for 12 years and a Deacon 22 years. He stays busy and enjoys being involved in the prison ministry, nursing home ministry, along with Reclaim and grief ministry. He is also a member of the Parker County Sherrif’s Posse. One of Tommy’s favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things which you have not known.” Tommy’s goal as a board member of Sanctified Hope is to help, encourage and witness to the women who enter into the program with the goal of rebuilding their precious lives.

Andrea Waitley
Andrea Waitley was born and raised in Weatherford, Texas. She returned to Weatherford after living in northeastern Colorado for twenty years. Andrea loves being “home”! For over twenty years, Andrea served as president of Cross My Heart Ministries, a ministry dedicated to equipping, empowering and encouraging women to become all that God designed them to be. It is this experience that Andrea plans to use in her role on the board of Sanctified Hope. She now serves as director of Love Shows Up Care Ministry at First Methodist Church, and teaches the Heart of Lydia Sunday school class. Andrea spends as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren, just ask her about them! Psalm 86:11, “Teach me Your way; I will walk in Your truth. United my heart to fear Your name,” is the scripture Andrea seeks to live out.

Louie Hutson
Louie and Shirli have been married 45 years and have lived in Weatherford the entire time. They raised 4 children and now have 10 grandchildren. They have been active members of North Side Baptist Church for the past 26 years. Louie retired after a 35 year career with State Farm Insurance where he started out as an estimator for auto damage, then as Property Claims Trainer and finished as a Re-inspector. Louie is currently the director of the “Reclaimed” ministry, a faith based recovery program for those with addiction and those recovering from addiction. Shirli also assists by helping family members who have loved ones struggling with addiction Louie’s desire is to support the ministry of Sanctified Hope however God leads and to inspire spiritual growth in the women as they are preparing for their new life. One of Louie’s favorite scriptures is Philippians 6-7 NKJV. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
