We have opportunities for men, women, and groups. Candidates under age 18 have special considerations. Our volunteers serve in a variety of areas including events, outside areas, program support, life skills, office help, crafts, mentoring, and more. Can I volunteer once a month or only as my schedule allows?

Yes. We offer flexible opportunities for many schedules, including weekly, recurring, occasional, and one-time roles. Some opportunities can also be done in the evenings or on weekends.

Can I complete community service or school program hours with Sanctified Hope?

Yes, although availability is limited. Please complete the Interest Form and note that you are interested in earning service hours.

Do you have opportunities that are not done on-site?

Yes. Some roles can be done off-site, including the Prayer Team, donation drives, and select project-based opportunities. Complete the Interest Form and let us know you are looking for off-site options.

Training & Rotation

Attend Basic Training and tour the facility. Some roles require additional training. This step also includes time getting familiar with different areas of the ministry through a rotation experience, such as helping in the office, attending a class, or serving on a project team.

Alumni Outreach

Overview:

Even after women leave the program, they continue to need encouragement, support, and community. This role helps create a safe and nurturing environment where alumni can stay connected and continue building healthy relationships.

Time Commitment: Monthly check-ins with women and occasional events
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Training and Communication Guidelines: Advanced Volunteer Training preferred
Reports To: Elizabeth Mederos, Program Manager
Requirements: Facebook account; mature walk with Christ

Responsibilities:

Communicate with Sanctified Hope alumni each month
Encourage women through the private Facebook group and individual texts
Plan at least one alumni gathering each quarter
Help create simple, low-cost opportunities for fellowship
Acknowledge birthdays with a card
Document interactions in the Sanctified Hope database

Car Finder Team

Overview:

Reliable transportation is often a critical step toward long-term employment and stability. This role helps participants access affordable, dependable vehicles.

Time Commitment: As needed
Training Required: SH Orientation; Volunteer Application; Car Assessment and Buying Guidelines
Reports To: Janet Duvall Athey, SH Board Chairman
Requirements: Ability to assess vehicles personally or through a trusted knowledgeable person

Responsibilities:

Search for potential vehicles through Marketplace, auctions, and community connections
Arrange to inspect and assess vehicles
Help with purchase logistics, including payment and pickup
Guide participants through basic car care and maintenance

Career & Education Advisor

Overview:

This role helps participants move toward education and career goals that support long-term success and independence.

Time Commitment: Varies based on participant need
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Training with Case Management Procedures; Advanced Training preferred
Reports To: Elizabeth Mederos, Program Manager
Requirements: Confidentiality, assessment skills, and goal-setting ability

Responsibilities:

Help assess participant needs and career goals
Assist with FAFSA and Weatherford College applications
Help participants apply for TRIO
Facilitate career interest evaluation
Assist with job applications, resumes, and cover letters

Financial Reconciling

Overview:

This role helps participants develop sound money management habits and stay accountable to their monthly budgets.

Time Commitment: Once a week, 2–3 hours
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Training with Financial Peace process and forms
Reports To: Elizabeth Mederos, Program Manager
Requirements: Knowledge of financial reconciliation and familiarity with Financial Peace concepts

Responsibilities:

Reconcile bank statements
Compare expenses and deposits to participant budgets
Note discrepancies and observations
Document notes for the Program Manager in the database

Goals Coach

Overview:

Goals Coaches help participants build healthy habits, work toward life goals, and stay accountable through each phase of the program.

Time Commitment: Daytime hours; frequency depends on participant phase
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Volunteer and Case Management Training; Advanced Training preferred
Reports To: Elizabeth Mederos, Case Manager
Requirements: Confidentiality, goal-setting ability, strong communication skills

Responsibilities:

Meet regularly with participants according to program phase
Discuss progress, challenges, and next steps
Serve as a thinking and accountability partner
Document sessions in the database
Conduct at least one in-person session when required

Cleaning Coach

Overview:

This role helps teach practical life skills related to maintaining a home with confidence and care.

Time Commitment: As needed when new participants arrive
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Volunteer Training; Advanced Training preferred
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Knowledge of efficient cleaning techniques

Responsibilities:

Teach participants how to clean bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and office spaces
Explain methods and the reasons behind them
Demonstrate efficient and consistent cleaning habits
Encourage relationship-building and rest after work

Cleaning Team (Spring & Fall)

Overview:

This seasonal role supports deep cleaning projects and teaches participants skills for maintaining a home thoroughly and well.

Time Commitment: Twice a year, 3–6 hours
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Volunteer Training
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Knowledge of efficient cleaning techniques

Responsibilities:

Assist with spring and fall deep cleaning
Clean windows, baseboards, ceiling fans, furniture areas, and shared spaces
Teach and model deeper cleaning techniques

Clothing & Donation Team

Overview:

This role helps create a welcoming, well-organized clothing and essentials space for women entering the program with very few possessions.

Time Commitment: Regular commitment of 4–6 hours each month; some weekly coverage needed
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Training with Donation Room Guidelines; Advanced Training preferred
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Able to lift 20 pounds; prolonged standing; organizing skills preferred

Responsibilities:

Sort incoming donations
Remove unusable or outdated items
Organize items by size and category
Keep the room clean, inviting, and functional
Help participants select needed items
Coordinators may assist with inventory discussions for new arrivals

Craft Assembly Team

Overview:

This team helps women explore entrepreneurial skills while producing items that can also support the ministry financially.

Time Commitment: Varies; mostly September and October, but can continue throughout the year
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Volunteer Training
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Ability to create quality crafts; basic painting, sanding, or lettering skills

Responsibilities:

Practice crafts ahead of time
Demonstrate craft-making to participants
Guide and assist women during project sessions
Help ensure finished products are high-quality and ready for sale

Craft Creation Team

Overview:

This role focuses on designing new craft ideas that participants can create and sell.

Time Commitment: Occasional projects, as needed
Training Required: SH Orientation; Volunteer Application
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Ability to create simple, marketable craft projects with a good price point

Responsibilities:

Develop and test new product ideas
Present ideas to staff for approval
Create supply lists
Teach the project process to participants

Curriculum Teacher

Overview:

Teachers guide women through foundational Christian curriculum during the early stages of the program.

Time Commitment: 2 hours weekly for the duration of the selected curriculum

Craft Fair Team

Overview:

This team supports craft fairs where participants gain experience, build confidence, and help generate support for the ministry.

Time Commitment: Varies; primarily October and November, but some opportunities may happen year-round
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Volunteer Training; Advanced Training preferred
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Ability to stand, bend, and provide good customer service

Responsibilities:

Package and load items
Set up tables and displays
Sell items alongside participants
Help with cleanup and reloading
Model responsible money handling
Assist with local display and restocking opportunities

Driver Team

Overview:

Drivers help participants get to appointments, work, and other essential destinations while building trust and supportive relationships.

Time Commitment: Varies; weekly shift preferred, though on-call drivers are also needed
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Training with Driver Guidelines; Advanced Training
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Clean driving record; full coverage insurance; reliable vehicle in excellent condition

Responsibilities:

Arrive on time for scheduled rides
Follow Sanctified Hope transportation guidelines
Clarify wait times or drop-off instructions
Engage participants in encouraging conversation
Check with the Volunteer Coordinator for additional tasks between appointments when applicable

Event Comittee

Overview:

This team supports the planning and execution of events that strengthen awareness, engagement, and sustainability for the ministry.

Time Commitment: Varies by event
Training Required: SH Orientation; Volunteer Application
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator / Executive Director
Requirements: Dependability, initiative, communication skills

Responsibilities:

Assist with planning, promotion, setup, and follow-up
Help coordinate details such as food, invitations, decor, registration, and volunteer assignments
Work within a timeline and communicate clearly with leadership
Represent Sanctified Hope professionally and effectively

Exercise Instruction Team

Overview:

This role helps participants build healthier habits and understand the value of physical wellness.

Time Commitment: Weekly for at least 6 weeks, up to 12 weeks
Training Required: SH Orientation; Volunteer Training
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Knowledge of appropriate exercise practices for varying health and fitness levels

Responsibilities:

Lead 30–45 minute exercise sessions
Teach women safe, appropriate exercise techniques
Explain the “why” behind healthy habits
Encourage hydration, self-care, and consistency

Mentor

Overview:

Mentors build one-on-one relationships with participants and walk alongside them through curriculum, challenges, and spiritual growth.

Time Commitment: Weekly, 2 hours
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Volunteer Training; Advanced Volunteer Training
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Daily walk with Christ and a desire to guide another woman in truth and growth

Responsibilities:

Meet weekly with a mentee
Work through assigned curriculum consistently
Build trust through honesty, vulnerability, and encouragement
Guide mentees in truth and help support their progress in the program

Office Team

Overview:

Office volunteers help keep operations running smoothly so staff can best support participants.

Time Commitment: Varies; some tasks are regular, others flexible
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Volunteer Training and Office Procedures; Advanced Training preferred
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Requirements: Confidentiality, attention to detail, and computer skills for some tasks

Responsibilities:

Database entry

Outside Areas: Chickens

Overview:

This role teaches responsibility, stewardship, and practical food-related life skills.

Time Commitment: Varies, as needed

Requirements: Experience with basic chicken care

Responsibilities:

Guide women in care of chickens and the coop
Help maintain supplies and replace chickens as needed
Teach consistent care in all weather conditions
Trim feathers when necessary to keep chickens secure

Outside Areas: Garden

Overview:

This role teaches women practical gardening skills, responsibility, and food cultivation.

Time Commitment: At least twice a month; more often during growing season
Training Required: SH Orientation; Basic Volunteer Training; safety guidelines for gardening and equipment

Requirements: Knowledge of gardening basics and seasonal care

Assist with planting and harvesting
